Overview

Mavs RISE is an invitation-only admission program designed to serve, support, and empower first-year students who are conditionally admitted. The targeted support is tailored to each student to provide the right path to academic success.

Impact

Key components of the Mavs RISE program include:
• Orientation.
• Academic support.
• Academic coaching.
• Financial wellness checkup.
• Career-readiness planning sessions.
• Community building: Participants have the opportunity to apply for the Mavs RISE Residential Learning Community if they choose on-campus housing.

By offering these comprehensive services, Mavs RISE aims to enhance the academic experience and success rates of conditionally admitted students at UTA.

Status Update - Summer 2025

Peer-Led Team Learning has expanded from two to 15 courses in order to accommodate increasing student participation. Additionally, simplified, streamlined early alert systems launched in Fall 2025 to enhance timely student interventions.
