Overview

The mission of the Maverick Advantage program is to create a campus-wide culture of employability through a focus on experiential learning. The program’s goal is to help students gain marketable professional skills as part of their exceptional academic preparation.

Impact

Through the Mavs EDGE Internship Program, the Career Development Center wants to extend the “Maverick Advantage” and partner with you to develop meaningful workplace learning opportunities while also developing your talent pipeline.

Associated Strategies:

Enhance access and affordability for all students. Equip students with the skills, knowledge, and persistence to confidently and successfully achieve educational and career goals.

Status Update - Summer 2025

UTA launched the Mavs Experiential Education Taskforce with EDGE employer partners and updated internship resources for students, employers, and departments. A curated list of internships is now shared weekly, and outreach efforts—including classroom and student organization presentations—are underway to increase awareness and access.
