  • If you try to enroll in a class outside your eligibility, the system will block registration and you may see Department Consent Required.
  • If you’re having trouble registering for classes, start by checking for any holds on your account in MyMav, as these can block registration.
  • Sometimes registration issues happen if the course section is restricted to a certain group of students—such as in-state vs. out-of-state tuition residency or students in a particular campus location (on-campus vs. online). If you are trying to enroll in a class meant for out-of-state students but your record shows you as in-state, the system will block your registration.

If you think you should be eligible for the course, contact [email protected] to verify your eligibility.

Students are able to drop a class by themselves until the last day of late registration.  Check the academic calendar here for registration dates.  After late registration, students can drop a class by filling out a Drop Form through MyMav.

Dropping classes may impact your financial aid or scholarships.  Always check with the Office Financial Aid and Scholarships before dropping a class.

Your advisor cannot provide details about how dropping a class may affect your tuition, financial aid, or other financial obligations.

You may take the exam in your last semester of your social work program. To do this, you must request a letter from the Dean, verifying your status. The letter will be sent directly to ASWB. There is no fee for the letter.
