Social Work’s 2030 Strategic Plan

Grounded in our values and shaped by our community, the School of Social Work’s 2030 Strategic Plan sets the course for a transformative future in research, education, and social impact.

Strategic Plan

The School of Social Work’s 2030 Strategic Plan demonstrates a steadfast commitment to excellence, innovation, and meaningful engagement with the community, in harmony with UTA’s overarching 2030 Plan.

Development Process

The plan emerged from a highly collaborative approach, inviting insights and suggestions from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners. The leadership team directed the process, with each member acting as a “pillar champion” responsible for gathering stakeholder input and ensuring the plan accurately represents the community’s perspectives and ambitions.

Strategic Pillars

This bold and forward-thinking plan centers around six main pillars:

  • Student Success – Empower students to realize their academic, personal, and professional aspirations.
  • People & Culture – Foster a vibrant environment that supports and celebrates the achievements and well-being of faculty and staff.
  • Alumni & Community Engagement – Enhance collaborative partnerships and community impact through active engagement.
  • Research & Innovation – Further meaningful research by increasing productivity, securing grant funding, and gaining recognition.
  • Educational Innovation – Create diverse pathways for skill development by embracing inventive teaching and learning approaches.
  • Infrastructure – Strengthen essential facilities, organizational systems, and services that underpin the School’s mission.
