Admission to the UTA MSMR Graduate Program
ADMISSIONS
Admission to the MS in Marketing Research (MSMR) program is a highly selective process designed to identify candidates with the analytical skills, strategic thinking, and academic excellence necessary to thrive in the dynamic field of research applied to business.
The program’s rigorous criteria ensure that admitted students have the intellectual curiosity, communication skills, quantitative aptitude, and business acumen to succeed in the current data-driven economy.
The program seeks applicants with strong academic backgrounds, relevant professional experience, and a demonstrated ability to analyze complex business problems. The selection process evaluates candidates holistically, considering several criteria:
- Academic excellence through previous coursework (3.0+ GPA)
- GMAT/GRE Scores (test waivers may be available based on GPA, school accreditation and relevant working experience)
- Quantitative and communication skills
- Professional experience indicating strong potential for success in research applied to business

Application Documents
- One unofficial transcript from institutions you've attended (submit official transcript if admitted)
- GMAT or GRE test scores. Test waivers are available base on academic performance, school accreditation, or work experience. Send all your documents to the MSMR director to be considered for a waiver.
- Resume (1 page)
- Statement of Purpose
- 2 letters of recommendation. Letters should be from individuals who have knowledge of your academic and/or professional capability.
For international applicants whose native language is not English:
- TOEFL iBT: Total Composite 81, with preferred section scores of Listening (16), Reading (20), Speaking (23), and Writing (22), or
- IELTS: Band scores of 6.5 on all skills
- For other documentation required from international applicants contact the International Graduate Office.
