Involvement Fair Eventdex
This project will replace a challenging manual table assignment and attendee check-in process with a more efficient procedure and will enable all student attendees to view a live map of where organizations which interest them are located during the organization fair which occurs multiple times over an academic year.
Career Development Center
Professional Attire Assistance Fund
The Professional Attire Assistance Fund will provide financial support to students who need help obtaining professional clothing for interviews, internships, and career-related events. Instead of relying on donated items, this program offers retail gift cards ensuring students can select new, appropriate attire that fits their individual style, size, and professional goals. The fund promotes equity, confidence, and career readiness for all students, empowering them to make a strong first impression as they transition from college to career and engage in professional career events.

Career Readiness Scholars
This high-impact program empowers UTA students to transform their internship, co-op, or student employment experiences into powerful stories of career readiness and success. Students will learn to document their experience, build skills, meet with mentors, and ultimately showcase their experience others.
New Maverick Orientations
Bridging Language Barriers: Enhancing Orientation & Transition Experiences with ILA Devices
This project proposes to integrate Instant Language Assistant (ILA) devices into orientation and transition programming to better support Spanish-speaking students and their families. These devices will provide real-time translation during events, tours, and one-on-one conversations, ensuring that language is not a barrier to fully understanding and engaging with campus resources.
Counseling and Psychological Services and Campus Partners
Residential Mental Health Retreat
A full-day, therapeutic retreat designed to empower residential students with practical mental health knowledge and skills through engaging, hands-on experiences. Grounded in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) framework (see needs statement), the retreat offers a dynamic blend of learning, reflection, and connection.
Military and Veterans Services
Wreath-Laying Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery
Military and Veteran Services will lead a UTA group to Arlington National Cemetery to place a wreath as part of a respectful Prelude to Memorial Day event. This national recognition will honor America’s fallen, highlight UTA’s support for military-connected students, and show UTA’s leadership in veteran success.
Campus Recreation
Outdoor Adventure Trips - Spring 2026
This project will provide a series of trips to engage UTA students in off-campus outdoor adventure trips ranging from hiking to canoeing to kayaking and more.
Student Activities
Maverick Con
This project proposes hosting UTA Comic Con, a one-day campus-wide event that combines pop culture, creativity, and community engagement. This event would highlight UTA’s innovation, student talent, and cultural diversity while creating opportunities for students to connect with peers, industry professionals, and alumni.

Empowerment Through Movement
An evening of dancing, empowerment, and connecting with your inner strength, featuring meaningful activities and conversations, soulful music to bring out our fierce self, and an atmosphere filled with positivity. It was a night full of self-confidence, connecting with other amazing students, and celebrating the power and beauty within each of us.

Student Organization eLearning Portal
The Office of Student Organizations launched an eLearning portal to equip student members and leaders with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage & lead their organizations through online modules covering numerous critical areas relevant to guiding campus groups. Courses included MavEngage Mobile; Financial Wellness, Management, and Responsibility; Marketing and Communication; and Effective Officer Transitions and Selection Practices.

Housing and Residence Life
Campus Charge: E-Scooter Station Initiative
The project installed outdoor e-scooter charging stations in close proximity to residence halls and apartment communities to promote safe charging and foster student desire to maintain their use of e-scooters.

Follett Student Leadership Center
International Alternative Breaks in Morocco
This project sent approximately 12 students advisors abroad to Morocco to expose them to global issues and to provide tangible service to global partners and communities.
Campus Recreation & Counseling and Psychological Services
Connected students receiving support from Counseling and Psychological Services with personal training through Campus Recreation free of charge to the student.
Student Activities
Spring Fest
Spring Fest created a week of programs similar to Homecoming, but held near the end of the spring semester to bring together students, faculty, staff, and the local community in a fun and engaging environment. Events centered around promoting school spirit, building community, and offering a stress-relieving break for students preparing for final exams.

Campus Recreation
9-Hole Disc Golf Course
A 9-hole disc golf course was designed and installed in Doug Russell Park on the edge of the UTA campus, opening in the fall 2025 semester. The holes vary in length, terrain, and difficulty, incorporating natural features from the past including trees, water, and open fields.

Follett Student Leadership Center
Mavericks in Action: Empowering Community Through Service
This program created a structured service initiative in collaboration between the Follett Student Leadership Center and our Residential Learning Communities (RLCs). The initiative offered students multiple opportunities to participate in impactful community service projects throughout the spring semester.

International Student and Scholar Services International Sash Ceremony
Implementation of the International Sash Ceremony designed to recognize and celebrate graduating international students. The sash is a great way to proudly display a student’s home country while walking the stage at commencement.
Health Services
Condom Dispensers for Free Condom Access
Provide easy and free access to condoms across campus by installing condom dispensers in ten, high-traffic areas around campus.

February Rec Sports Fitness Day
Each year on February 22, NIRSA members celebrate Recreational Sports & Fitness Day in commemoration of NIRSA’s founding date. Rec Day is an occasion to remember when Dr. William Wasson brought 20 intramural directors from 11 Historically Black Colleges and Universities together to share his research on collegiate recreation. February 22, 1950, was the start of NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation, an association beloved by so many today. What began as just 11 schools coming together to discuss intramural is today a phenomenon all about supporting the idea that recreation on campus matters and has value. UTA’s Campus Recreation Department will bring the spirit of National Recreational Sports and Fitness Day to UTA to promote holistic wellbeing.
New Maverick Orientation
Implementation of Gallup Strengths for Maventure Camp 2024
Upon completion of Gallup Strengths Coach training, New Maverick Orientation will implement a strengths based curriculum into some Maventure Camp Offerings. Grant funding will be provided so participants can take Strengths in advance of attendance.
Community Standards and Counseling and Psychological Services
Core Counseling Competencies to serve International Students
CAPS counselors will be offered the opportunity to participate in training to gain insight into prevalent challenges encountered by international students. Through a comprehensive workshop, counselors will acquire essential competencies necessary for addressing these issues.
