Deep Dive
Deep Dive Accelerator
The Deep Dive Accelerator is an intensive, hands-on program designed to help early-stage founders and teams transform ideas into validated, investor-ready ventures. Over the course of several weeks, participants engage in a structured series of interactive workshops and mentorship sessions that build the foundational elements of a successful startup.
Each week focuses on a critical aspect of venture development, including:
- Problem Definition & Validation – Understand the real-world pain point your startup addresses and validate it through evidence-based methods.
- Value Proposition Design – Clearly articulate the value your product or service delivers to customers.
- Customer Discovery – Conduct interviews and experiments to refine assumptions and gather actionable feedback.
- Business Model Development – Explore various revenue models and build a lean, scalable plan.
- Go-to-Market Strategy – Develop a strategy for reaching your target market and gaining traction.
- Competitor Analysis – Identify direct and indirect competitors and learn to position your offering effectively.
- Pitch Preparation – Craft and refine your pitch with guidance from mentors and investors.
The program culminates in a final pitch event, where teams present their progress to a panel of mentors and industry professionals. These sessions provide valuable feedback to address gaps, uncover blind spots, and sharpen investor readiness.
Eligibility & Participation Requirements
Participation in the Deep Dive accelerator is mandatory for teams planning to compete in Phase II of the MavPitch program. Teams not involved in MavPitch may request admission to the accelerator based on cohort availability. (Learn more about MavPitch here.)
To be eligible, all teams must have a connection to The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). This includes current students, faculty, staff, alumni, or teams that are developing university intellectual property under license.
Program Schedule
Deep Dive is held annually during the summer, typically running from early June through mid-July. The program is structured to accommodate active participation, and commitment to weekly sessions is essential for maximizing value.
