The Trump administration, which assumed office on January 20, 2025, has issued several Executive Orders (White House News) that may result in an impact to UTA federally funded projects. OGCS will be posting and updating general guidance issued by agencies. Specific guidance impacting individual projects will be sent directly to Principal Investigators.

Join Us for an Overview of the UTA Closeout Process & Sponsor Reporting Requirements
This session will walk through UTA’s award closeout procedures and provide an overview of key sponsor reporting expectations. Whether you’re new to research administration or looking for a refresher, this presentation will help clarify responsibilities and timelines related to award closeout. Topics Include:
- Required report actions upon receiving a new award
- Types of reports: technical, financial, patent, and property
- SPA analysis: annual, 90-day, and final reviews
- Closeout notices, including subaward notifications
- Patent and property reporting: what’s required and when
- Sponsor-specific requirements for NSF and AFOSR
- RPPR reporting for NIH and the Department of Commerce (annual and final)
- CPRIT reporting: annual reports, HUB documentation, and inventory tracking

Join us for an introductory session to learn how the Office of Grant and Contract Services (OGCS) supports faculty, staff, and students in securing and managing external funding for sponsored projects. In this session, you'll get an overview of:
- PreAward: Assistance with identifying funding opportunities and submitting competitive proposals.
- Award Setup: Guidance through the critical process of establishing awards once funding is secured.
- PostAward: Support for managing awards and subawards in compliance with sponsor and institutional requirements, including budget oversight, prior approvals, and final closeout.
