Suryakeerthi "Surya" Mohan, JD, LLM
Licensing Associate (Innovation Manager - Physical Sciences)
Surya manages all Physical Sciences (including Computer Sciences) related innovations developed by researchers at UTA. Surya routinely engages with UTA researchers to identify commercially relevant innovations, works with both researchers and relevant industries to advance the innovations along their respective commercialization pathways to bring those innovations to the market. Surya also serves as a volunteer SBIR/STTR grant reviewer for the National Science Foundation.
Before moving into the world of technology commercialization, Surya drafted and prosecuted patent applications in various arts including the mechanical arts, electromechanical arts, computer arts, in a patent engineer capacity for various law firms in the US and abroad.
Surya’s education credentials include a BEng. (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from Lancaster University (UK); a GDL/CPE degree (LLB equivalent; Law of England and Wales) from The University of Law, Moorgate (UK); a JD degree from the University of Dayton School of Law (OH); and a LLM degree in Intellectual Property Law from The George Washington University Law School (DC).
