Master Wellness Volunteers allows those who have a passion about health and wellness to share that passion with others via worksite wellness programs, community events and more!

Tasks Available for UTA Students
Food demonstrations, teaching research based programs, helping implement nutrition classes in the community, help execute 4-H contests for kids.

Texas Health Resources (THR) is a faith-based, nonprofit health system that cares for more patients in North Texas than any other provider. We serve North Texas through Texas Health Physicians Group, hospitals, outpatient facilities, Neighborhood Care & Wellness Centers, home health and preventive and fitness services. General Service Needs
Finance: Student(s) will develop and implement a lean process to improve the fixed asset certification process. Students can partner with hospital finance to learn the new rolling forecast model that has been implemented and work to help improve forecast techniques for various line items. Determine correlation between various factors and admission rates.

What tasks are available for UT Arlington students to help with?
There are a variety of engagement opportunities for college students. THR offers an opportunity to partner with employees in finance, supply chain, revenue cycle, and Health Information Management (HIM) Departments to enhance their coursework. Texas ReEntry Services is a social service program designed to enhance the reintegration of ex-offenders into society. The objective of the Vocation Development Program is to increase the clients’ opportunity for gainful employment.

Tasks Available for UTA Students
Volunteers will provide supportive staff and one-on-one tutoring to individuals who are illiterate. No volunteer training required.

The Arc of Greater Tarrant County provides services and support for individuals with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities and their families. The Arc of Greater Tarrant County is also an advocate for the mentally challenged, to foster the development of programs in their behalf and to monitor existing programs to assure the highest standard of excellence.

Tasks Available for UTA Students
Volunteers needed to assist with monthly dance, recreational activities, annual golf tournament and office work. Volunteer training required.

The Cowtown Marathon is a not-for-profit organization that currently puts on two road races a year (October & February). With our C.A.L.F Program we partner with local schools to donate over 5,000 pair of shoes a year and scholarship students to participate in our events. We want running to be the avenue for all individuals to have a healthy lifestyle.

General Service Needs
We have volunteer needs over our race weekends in October (200) and February (2,000). We also have items through the year in the office that we could use help with. In January and February, we fit schools with shoes and need assistance with that process also. We would love to have interns to help us out also.

The mission of The First Tee of Fort Worth is to impact the lives of all young people by providing participation in The First Tee’s Life Skills Curriculum and its Nine Core Values through the game of golf, thereby instilling life enhancing values that encourage leadership, build character, foster community service and promote wellness.

Our programs include open enroll classes, after school programs, PE programs, and additional opportunities for participants.

Our program offerings are extensive, so having volunteers to assist, or even be trained to lead entry level classes is vital to our growth and sustainability. This is especially true in our after school programs.

Giving Us Leadership and Focus is a Texas based organization that is coming up with solutions and opportunities to re-engage under-served teens in staying on track in school.

By offering a uniquely combined mentoring program that is fostered and managed by teens in exciting peer to peer settings, teens are encouraged to make successful transitions from high school no matter their surrounding circumstances.

Whether they are going into college or preparing for life as young adults without college, they are encouraged and inspired by inquiring project planning, organizations, business development, volunteering, career and entrepreneurial skills. Thus giving them a fighting chance on living life beyond mediocrity.

The mission of The Parenting Center is to provide families the tools to succeed. The aim is the prevention and intervention of child abuse and neglect.

General Services Needs
Individual, group and play therapy, couple and family counseling. The Healthy Families program provides individual in-home consultation and education for first-time mothers under the age of 20; WARM Line is a parenting hotline for anyone who needs to ask a parenting question.

Education Services: Parent education classes, workshops, speeches and seminars are offered both on-site and at various locations throughout Tarrant County. Volunteers needed to assist with office work and public relations. Volunteer training required.
