TRIO Student Support Services
Student Support Services is a component of the federal TRIO programs, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, and established at UT Arlington in 1976.
The goal of SSS is to improve academic performance, increase retention and graduation rates, and foster an environment that supports undergraduate students through the completion of their first bachelor’s degree.
Each student works with a TRIO Success Coach to explore current academic goals/needs and develop a plan for success. The focus on individualized guidance and support addresses each student’s needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. Students will focus on the following areas:
- Academics
- Career exploration
- Financial literacy
- Graduate or Professional school interest
- Personal & social matters
