View the list of exemptions in the table below. If you believe you qualify for an exemption, please submit your exemption and accompanying required documentation.

Register for the TSIA2
Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state law requiring all Texas public institutions, including UT Arlington, to determine college readiness in Reading, Writing, and Math for all degree-seeking undergraduate students, both on campus and online. The TSIA2 is the name of the assessment test and is the measurement used to assess college readiness. Tip: Check out this list to see if you qualify for an exemption.

If you are Not Complete in English and/or Math, there are specific courses that you can not take while enrolled in your required TSI coursework. The courses below are the restricted courses for each area.

- TSI Liable: Determine if you qualify for any exemptions and follow the instructions to submit the exemption officially to UTA. If you do not qualify for any exemptions, you will be required to test for the TSIA2.
- TSI Not Complete: You will be required to enroll in TSI developmental coursework for the Not Complete subject area during your first semester at UTA. Your TSI advisor will advise you on which courses you are required to take. You also have the option to retest in the subject area you are Not Complete in.

- This untimed assessment consists of multiple-choice and free-response questions. Depending on which section you are testing in, it can be:
- ELAR (English language arts and reading) - multiple choice
- Essay- free response
- Math - multiple choice

Submitting Scores FAQs
You can visit your Accuplacer Student Portal to view your scores.
It is recommended to submit scores as soon as possible as they will help determine your class placement.
- If you have tested outside of UTA: you must wait at least 48 hours after testing before submitting your authorization form.
- If you have tested outside of UTA: you must wait at least 48 hours after testing before submitting your TSI Score Release Form.
TSI Exemptions FAQs
Yes. Scores are valid up to 5 years from the testing date. You can submit your scores to UTA.
