Overview

UT Arlington is dedicated to growing and strengthening its supplier network in the DFW region. This initiative aims to:

  • create an objective and competitive market for businesses
  • build stronger supplier relationships with small, local businesses
  • optimize costs
  • increase community involvement
  • mitigate risks

Impact

This initiative will not only benefit the University's procurement process but also contribute to the growth and success of our business partners.

Associated Strategy:

Optimize our financial management systems, financial models, and resource utilization strategies to ensure UTA meets its financial obligations. Advance enterprise capabilities by modernizing, streamlining, and strengthening UTA's physical infrastructure to support the University's mission and vision.

Status Update - Summer 2025

Efforts to strengthen supplier relations are underway, with improved procedures and alignment of MavEShop to promote vendors. While this approach is showing positive results, vendor participation in capital projects has seen a year-to-date decline in FY25.

Cooper Street Bridges Repairs and Renovation

The renewal and redesign of the north and south bridges that span the street will create an iconic welcome to our campus, improve safety and longevity, and ensure that the bridges are easier to maintain going forward.
