Mavs RISE is an invitation-only, admission program designed to serve, support, and empower our first-year students who are conditionally admitted. The targeted support is tailored to each student to provide the right path to academic success.

Academic Advising & Coaching

Dedicated sessions with a Student Ready Advisor (SRA) that works with you through advising and coaching to help you build and maintain your academic success plan.

Academic Course Support

Access support connected to your courses to help you stay on track, including:

  • Tutoring
  • Supplemental Instruction (SI)
  • Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) for STEM courses

Students in Mavs RISE work with a Student Ready Advisor to create a success plan built around them—using resources such as:
  • Academic advising and coaching sessions each semester

  • A Financial Wellness Check-up with the Student Money Management Center
  • A Career Readiness Review with the Career Development Center
