All degree plans require the completion of a number of credit hours relevant to the discipline. The number of credit hours differ according to degree requirements.

Yes. The charges are considered an education expense and are included as part of tuition and fees. Students must have sufficient funding to cover the total cost of tuition and fees for the amount charged for excessive hours and/or 3-peat to be paid by financial aid.

Yes, the below hours are excluded from 3-Peat:

  • Up to 18 hours of remedial and developmental courses; Developmental coursework in excess of 18 hours is subject to additional charges
  • Courses where hours can be repeated for credit (special topics/seminar/independent)
  • Vocational/Technical/Workforce Education courses

Certain credit hours are excluded from the excessive hour calculation. These include:

  • Credit hours earned at a private or an out-of-state institution
  • Credit earned prior to high school graduation (i.e. dual credit)
  • Credit earned through examination (AP, CLEP, IB, SATII)
  • Credit earned in remedial and developmental courses
