Icon Guidelines

UTA's icon selection is powered by FontAwesome icons in the Classic and Solid formats. The icon's HTML code is used in several locations, while other components can have icons populated with a PNG image. Components that use FontAwesome code have their color pre-selected as #003765.

Getting an Icon Code

Some Sitecore components accept FontAwesome icons, in the form of their icon code. In FontAwesome, every icon and every variation of icon has its own unique code. Follow the steps below to get that code.

  1. Visit FontAwesome and locate the icon that you want to use
  2. Click on the icon and ensure that the "Classic" and "Solid" styles are selected
  3. Copy the code shown in teal. In the example shown above, the icon code you need is "fa-solid fa-thumbs-up"

Do:

  • DO use relevant icons to the point you are trying to convey
  • DO use professional icons
  • DO ensure you're using fa-solid icons only

Don't:
