How to Apply
How do I apply to the MFA program?
Please remember that the Art & Art History Department has a very specific application process:
1. Begin your application here: ApplyUTA. You will select the option for MFA_Art.
2. Your submission will include a digital portfolio. Graduate faculty will assess the candidate's visual work, letters of reference, letter of intent and C.V., all of which are application requirements. In this assessment, the visual portfolio is the most significant component of an application. A successful candidate's work is expected to show technical skill and conceptual strength in the area of choice. Documentation (photos, electronic images) should be of the highest caliber. Detail shots are allowed for three dimensional images or where otherwise helpful.
The department will not review incomplete applications. Applications must be completed prior to deadlines.
Faculty may request a remote interview with finalists.
