Student Government

What Is Student Government?
Student Government has been a part of the University since 1922 and gives voice to the student body. It is the primary way for students to participate in the policy-making that directly affects their educational and campus experience at the University. The group does this by putting on events, writing resolutions, and advocating on behalf of students to administration.

What Does Involvement Look Like?
Through Student Governance, there are two ways in which students may choose to get involved. First, by serving as the voice of the student body in Student Government, which provides student representation on various university committees and providing students’ perspective on a variety of campus issues. Or students can serve as the student hosts and hostesses of the campus by joining the UTA Ambassadors, which coordinates large-scale university events and implements the Maverick Way.
