The Texas Leadership Scholars (TLS) program will prepare students for life after graduation, whether their next step is a professional career or graduate school.

About Texas Leadership Scholars

The University of Texas at Arlington accepts a cohort of Texas Leadership Scholars each year. Texas Leadership Scholars are high-achieving, TEXAS Grant-eligible students selected from across the state to participate in a prestigious leadership program.

Students who participate in the Texas Leadership Scholars program will:
  • Receive full coverage of board-designated tuition and fees, along with a Housing & Food scholarship, through a combination of federal, state, and institutional aid.
  • Engage in progressive mentorship, including peer, faculty/staff, alumni, and professional mentors aligned with their goals.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities such as:
    • Strengths or leadership assessments
    • Resume writing and elevator pitch workshops
    • Networking events and service projects
  • Access undergraduate research opportunities with guidance from campus coordinators.
  • Live in a Living Learning Community (LLC) with fellow scholars for the first two years, fostering a strong peer network and shared academic experience.
