Tassel is the commencement software platform UTA uses to ensure a memorable ceremony experience. Graduates use this platform to upload photos, confirm pronunciation of their name, request ADA accommodations for themselves, request guest tickets and more. It is very important for graduates to complete their profile in Tassel.
UTA requires you to express your intent to participate and complete your graduation profile in Tassel by November 11th so we can best plan a memorable experience for both our graduates and guests. Students who respond after November 11th can still participate in commencement, but they will have limited or no personal ceremony information and access to guest tickets.
On the big screen during commencement, your degree information, name, and photo will be displayed alongside our in-person ceremony livestreams. Inside your Tassel, formerly known as Marching Order, profile, you can update your photo, and your degree information. Your information will be auto populated from MyMav to be included on your slide if no changes are submitted. The slide submission deadline is November 11th. Absolutely NO LATE submissions will be accepted. If you select to not upload your photo, a general UTA logo will be used instead.
To clearly pronounce all names during the ceremony and on your slides on the commencement website, we ask graduates to submit either phonetic pronunciation or a recording of your name. The deadline to submit pronunciation information is November 11th. If the pronunciation information is not submitted by the deadline, a recording will be made based on the most common pronunciation of the name.

Please contact your college coordinator and let them know of your desire to move ceremonies. Be advised that we cannot guarantee your request will be accommodated due to capacity considerations.

Graduates will be able to share their ADA needs in the registration form in Tassel, formerly known as Marching Order. Guests requiring ADA accommodation are encouraged to review the accessibility guide for Globe Life Field, and contact them with requests, as needed.
Guest tickets are required for entry into Globe Life Field, and graduates will request the number of guest tickets they desire in Tassel, formerly known as Marching Order, when registering for commencement. Hosting commencement at Globe Life Field allows UTA to serve more guests and place fewer restrictions on the number of guest tickets allocated to each graduate.
So long as graduates complete their Tassel profile by November 11th, the number of tickets requested will be released to them on December 4th. Details about claiming and distributing tickets are available on the Guest Tickets page and will be distributed to graduates via email.
Graduates will receive a separate GradPass the week of commencement. Graduates should NOT be included in guest ticket counts. Children under the age of two do not need a separate ticket if they are sitting on a ticketed guest’s lap.
Commencement ceremonies at Globe Life Field should last approximately 2 to 2-1/2 hours. Graduates should plan to arrive at Globe Life Field 75 minutes before their ceremony start time. Doors open 60 minutes before each ceremony for guests. Parking will be free for graduates and guests at Globe Life Field. A parking and entrance map for guests and graduates will be distributed to graduates via email the week of commencement and posted to the Maverick Family and Guest Experience webpage.
All bags and purses must be soft sided and not exceed 16” x 16” x 8”. Backpacks are prohibited, except for single-compartment drawstring bags that do not exceed the MLB bag-size requirements of 16” x 16” x 8”. Exceptions are for those that are carried for medical reasons or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children. All bags are subject to search before entering the ballpark.
UTA provides an official photographer to photograph each graduate who attends the in-person ceremony. Flash Photography will photograph every graduate and provide proofs via email within two weeks of graduation's conclusion.
No. In recent years, UTA added a summer commencement ceremony to its traditional spring/fall offering. While doing so added an additional opportunity to celebrate new graduates, it also introduced more expansive demands on resource areas. After evaluating the reach of this pilot program, the impact on our limited resource pools, and in consideration of our move to Arlington’s grand stage at Globe Life Field, the decision was made to return to hosting commencement ceremonies only after spring and fall regular sessions.
Regalia is required for all graduates/candidates in attendance. Regalia should be ordered in person or online through the UTA Bookstore. For questions, please call (817) 272-2785. All graduates are encouraged to order their regalia on or before October 23.

Diplomas are mailed 6-8 weeks after final grades post.
They will be mailed to the permanent address you have listed in MyMav. If it has been longer than eight weeks since you graduated, email [email protected] to check the status.
Students with FERPA holds will NOT be listed in the printed program. Holds can be removed in MyMav and the Grad Team will try to update the information in the digital program, time permitting.
Students who applied after the graduation application deadline of October 1, 2025, will NOT be included in the printed program but will be added to the digital program once the application has been approved and any FERPA restrictions have been addressed as time permits for the Grad Team.
