Faculty Engagement Day (FED) 2025
The University of Texas at Arlington celebrates continuous improvement in academic programs, student support, and administrative support services through our assessment recognition program. The Outstanding Assessment Practitioner award recognizes faculty and staff who demonstrate exceptional leadership in student learning outcomes assessment. Each year, we select one faculty member and one staff member as Outstanding Assessment Practitioners, along with one faculty runner-up and one staff runner-up.
Recognition & Rewards
Outstanding Assessment Practitioners will each receive a $1,000 honorarium and trophy, while runners-up will each receive a $500 honorarium and trophy. All honorees have the option to apply their honorarium toward professional travel. Winners and runners-up will be honored at the Annual Assessment Recognition Social in September 2025, hosted by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Reporting with support from the Office of the Provost.
Who Should be Nominated
We seek individuals who exceed their position's assessment requirements to promote teaching and learning through outcomes assessment. Outstanding candidates share best practices within their department and ideally across the institution. Special consideration will be given to those involved with the Unit Effectiveness Process (UEP) at UTA.
Eligibility Requirement
Nominees must be current full-time UTA faculty or staff members who have been in their position for at least six months before nomination. They should hold positions at the level of Chair/Executive Director or below. Nominations must be based on the nominee's assessment-related performance during the 2024-25 academic year, with a focus on UEP-related work.
Please note: Previous award recipients are ineligible for two years following their win, but past finalists and nominees who meet the requirements may be nominated again.
Nomination Process
The deadline for nominations is August 11, 2025, at 11:59 PM CST. Anyone may submit nominations, including self-nominations, and you may nominate multiple individuals. Please ensure all fields in the nomination form are complete, as incomplete nominations will not be considered. A cross-functional committee will select the winners by September 10, 2025.
