ACADEMIC PROGRAM REVIEW

Academic program review at UT Arlington is an institutional effectiveness practice that complies with Texas Administrative Code Rule 2.181 and is conducted to evaluate the teaching, student learning, research, and service activities of each academic program on a regular schedule and is used to advise the UT Arlington administration of ways in which the program can be made more effective.

UT Arlington’s Academic Program Review Policy (AA-PRS-PO-01) requires all programs, both undergraduate and graduate, be reviewed at least once during the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s (THECB) designated 10-year cycle (current cycle 2019-2029). Graduate programs are to be reviewed on a schedule determined by UT Arlington and published by the THECB. A department’s undergraduate programs are to be reviewed when their graduate programs are reviewed unless the undergraduate reviews are conducted on a different schedule as required by an external accrediting agency.
