DEFINITIONS

Cost of Attendance (COA) - Estimated total cost to attend UTA for the year (tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, personal expenses, etc.). This is NOT a bill.

Student Aid Index (SAI) - A number calculated using your FAFSA data that reflects your family's financial situation.

Financial Need - Financial need is the difference between COA and your Student Aid Index.

Tuition & Mandatory Fees (T&F) - Consists of tuition plus a set of required fees that most students must pay. It does not include additional expenses such as books, meals, housing, and personal or miscellaneous expenses.
