Nursing Grant

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board recently approved more than $5 million in funding for UTA to expand its efforts to address the critical nursing shortage in Texas and across the nation. Tanya Sudia, interim dean of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, discussed the grant on KLIF-AM this morning. NBC 5 and Science Magazine have also covered the story.

DOCTOR Act

Coordinated by the UTA media relations team, Ogan Gurel (CONHI) spoke with The Dallas Morning News on Texas House Bill 2038, also called the DOCTOR Act, that is designed to address the doctor shortage.

Plastic Roads

Coordinated by the UTA media relations team, Sahadat Hossain (College of Engineering) spoke with The Dallas Morning News about paving a stretch of a Dallas County highway—the first in Texas—with his plastic-infused asphalt technology. Reporter Miriam Fauzia discussed the story with NBC 5.

Research Study

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s daily newsletter on Wednesday shared an article about UTA’s two-year study on how fitness trackers may be able to flag cardiovascular disease by monitoring things such as sleep.

Tuition Packages

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported on various financial aid packages offered by Texas universities, mentioning UTA's tuition reimbursement program Blaze Forward in addition to those of several other University of Texas System institutions.
