Weiwen Zeng

Weiwen ZengDr. Weiwen Zeng is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work. His work focuses on children with autism and developmental disabilities and the family, cultural, and social factors that shape their outcomes. Using community-engaged research, he examines how social determinants of health and family dynamics influence development across the lifespan. Dr. Zeng’s current HRSA-funded study investigates the long-term trajectories of challenging behaviors and their effects on the health and well-being of children and adolescents with autism. He is also leading a project to culturally adapt a parenting program to support Asian families raising children with autism and developmental disabilities. His scholarship explores the intersections of disability, child development, and family functioning, with publications addressing mental health, service access among immigrant families, and culturally responsive parenting interventions. His research directly supports the Center’s goal of advancing innovative, evidence-based practices that strengthen children and families. As a Faculty Affiliate, Dr. Zeng seeks to collaborate on interdisciplinary efforts that improve systems of care and promote equitable outcomes.
