Humaun Kabir

Human KabirHumaun Kabir is a first-year PhD student at the School of Social Work, UTA, and a research enthusiast in the field of disability, family engagement and child welfare, who aims to promote social inclusion, equality and justice. As a graduate research assistant, Humaun contributed significantly to three policy-making research projects focusing on child and disability development funded by the Ministry of Social Welfare of the Government of Bangladesh. One of those studies guided the government of Bangladesh to establish eight centers throughout the country to ensure the comprehensive welfare of children with neurodevelopmental disability. Humaun is also an international student affiliate (gratis) at the Center for the Study of Interpersonal Acceptance & Rejection, UConn, where he led a study exploring the family relations of unemployed graduates. Humaun intends to contribute to the mission of the Child Welfare Research Center (CWRC) through his research targeting the intersection of child welfare and disability. As a Child Welfare Scholar, he will enhance his knowledge to transform child welfare policy and practice into a real-world situation more efficiently. Humaun is excited to apply his academic and professional knowledge and skills as one of the CWRC scholars.
