Blessing Ramsey-Soroghaye
Blessing Ngowari Ramsey-Soroghaye is an experienced social work educator, practitioner, and researcher with research interests in intimate partner violence (IPV) and women’s health issues. She has five years of experience teaching and mentoring students at the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria and seven years of experience conducting and publishing peer-reviewed research. Her work focuses on improving maternal health, family welfare, and children’s wellbeing.
As a Child Welfare Scholar with the Child Welfare Research Center (CWRC), Blessing aims to strengthen her research capacity, expand her teaching innovations, and contribute to global scholarship on child welfare and the intersection of child welfare and IPV. She seeks to leverage her prior experiences to promote actionable, evidence-based solutions for child protection and family-centered interventions in low-resource settings.
Her motivation is deeply rooted in her lived experience and professional practice in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, where children face challenges such as poverty, environmental degradation, family violence, child labor, and poor access to education and healthcare. Blessing is committed to advancing culturally responsive, community-driven, and sustainable approaches to child welfare.
