Ann Hunt-Rodgers
Dr. Ann Hunt-Rodgers is an assistant professor of practice at the University of Texas at Arlington’s School of Social Work. With nearly a decade of experience working within the child welfare system, specifically Child Protective Services (CPS), she has witnessed firsthand the challenges and inequities that families and children face. Her career experiences allow her to approach the field not only with practical knowledge of systemic barriers but also with a vision for how research, policy, and practice can work together to create meaningful change. As an educator, her teaching is grounded in an andragogical lens, where she encourages students to critically examine systems of power, disproportionality, and systemic injustice. By fostering reflective learning and applying knowledge to real-world practice, she strives to prepare future social workers to challenge inequities and advocate for transformative solutions. As a Faculty Affiliate with the Child Welfare Research Center (CWRC), Dr. Hunt-Rodgers will bring the lens of practitioner experience, teaching expertise, and a passion for collaborative, community-driven research. She intends to contribute to projects that explore prevention-focused interventions, evaluate antiracist practices in child welfare, and amplify family and community voices in shaping system reform.
