Last month, we celebrated MavsDay, UTA’s annual day of giving, and were overjoyed by the incredible support shown across our community.

The School of Social Work dedicated this year’s MavsDay to the CARE Fund, a vital resource that helps our students navigate life’s unexpected challenges. Whether it's covering emergency expenses, bridging tuition gaps, or supporting professional growth through conference travel, the CARE Fund ensures that students have a safety net when they need it most.

We are thrilled to share that 77 donors came together to raise $5,349 in support of the CARE Fund! Your generosity has a real impact on students’ lives, like Seraphina.

Seraphina is in her final year of her degree. She is doing everything she can to stay afloat while caring for her son, who is in a residential treatment program. She had recently lost her job, was months behind on her mortgage payments, and was just days away from having her utilities shut off. The stress was intensifying, yet through it all, Seraphina was determined to stay in school, seek therapy, and finish strong.

Because of the CARE Fund, the School of Social Work was able to step in and help her. She was able to stay housed, connected and on the path to obtaining her degree!

This is just one of many examples of how the CARE Fund helps students stay on track and overcome obstacles on their journey to graduation and success.

Thank you to everyone who gave on MavsDay! If you didn’t have a chance to contribute, there’s still time. Your support can make a meaningful impact at any time of the year.  Learn more and give here: uta.edu/sswcare

Together, we are building more than just a fund; we are building a foundation for our students to thrive, no matter the circumstance.
