UTA College of Business Launches New Scholarship Opportunities for 2025–2026

As summer break begins to end and current and future Mavericks plan to return to campus, there’s one opportunity that might not be top of mind: scholarships.

As part of its mission to make its exceptional degree programs both accessible and affordable, the UTA College of Business is excited to announce the launch of COB-specific scholarships in Scholarshop. Additionally, students are encouraged to apply for departmental scholarships offered through the college. The application window for 2025–2026  academic year scholarships closes July 31, 2025.

For many, financial barriers can limit access to internships, study abroad programs, or even the ability to attend college. Scholarships can help ease these challenges, opening doors to opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach, and can make a difference in which school a student ultimately decides to attend.

“As a scholarship recipient myself, having additional funds and resources drastically impacts students’ decisions to attend certain universities,” said Aresia Arthurs, Academic Recruiter for the College of Business. “Scholarships can help tip the scales by providing opportunity to students who otherwise would have missed out on certain experiences.”

Arthurs pointed out scholarships like the Dean’s Leadership Circle Scholarship as a scholarship that many students choose UTA over other schools for. She also highlighted the Jack and Doris Fouse Scholarship, which offers fully funded study abroad opportunities for College of Business students.

Undergradutes aren’t the only students eligible for scholarships. Those pursuing graduate degrees can also take advantage of the funds offered by the College of Business.

“That’s the biggest (question) that pops up, ‘Do you guys have any (scholarships)?,’” said James Brown, Graduate Recruiter. “I think the biggest misconception sometimes is that when you go to grad school there’s not any money, but there actually is.”

Brown emphasized that students can combine general COB awards and those offered by academic departments, increasing the potential for financial support.

“A lot of folks are not aware of that,” said Brown. “They can get some from the department and some from the (college), so that’s a big thing that you can potentially get multiple scholarships.”

Outside of financial support, scholarships also serve as a powerful credential. Being selected for a scholarship can demonstrate a student’s academic excellence, leadership, community involvement, or perseverance. For students applying to competitive internships, graduate programs, or full-time roles after graduation, scholarships can be a meaningful differentiator on their resume.

Many students assume that scholarship applications are only open during the school year, but that’s not the case. Now is the perfect time to explore scholarship opportunities, especially those offered by UTA.

Beyond scholarships, UTA is working to ease financial pressure through its new budget payment plans. Designed to give students more flexibility in how they manage enrollment costs, these plans allow students to begin making smaller monthly payments earlier in the semester. Students can choose from the Budget All-Inclusive Plan or the Budget Payment Plan, depending on their needs.

Together, scholarships and flexible payment plans reflect our commitment to making business education at UTA accessible and affordable for every Maverick.
