UTA Part-Time MBA and Executive MBA Programs Recognized Nationally and Globally for Excellence in 2025
Mavericks mean business, and they have the rankings to prove it.
In the 2025 rankings, UTA’s Part-Time MBA program was ranked No. 58 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, and the Executive MBA (EMBA) program secured the No. 46 spot globally, according to CEO Magazine, marking significant achievements for the College of Business.
Known for its rigorous methodology, U.S. News & World Report evaluates programs based on peer assessments, entrance exam scores, GPAs and professional work experience. UTA’s Part-Time MBA program stands strong at No. 7 in Texas and No. 37 among public institutions, tying with several esteemed universities across the country.
“Rankings go beyond visibility—they signal quality, credibility, and opportunity to prospective students,” said Fernando Jaramillo, associate dean for Students and Programs within the College of Business. “High-ranking programs are often perceived as more competitive and prestigious, helping attract top-tier applicants and faculty. The reputational boost also enhances our graduates’ marketability.”
Jaramillo explained that UTA’s Part-time MBA was “crafted with a clear focus on flexibility, relevance and results,” and the program’s high rankings are driven by “outstanding outcomes, (our) graduates consistently earn above-average salaries and excel in their chosen fields.”

“I am very proud of all the things I see take place in our Part-Time MBA program and the recognition and rankings we earn are certainly a part of that pride,” said Scott Elbert, senior director of Academic Advising in the College of Business. “There is so much work done by so many individuals to keep our Part-Time MBA program operating at a high-level that it is truly a collective accomplishment. The opportunity to earn this type of recognition year over year is a testament to our college leadership, our faculty, our staff, and our students.”
Elbert explained how factors contribute to the recognition of the program, and why students choose the UTA College of Business to continue their education.
“Our program offers a high-level advanced business education with various degree of flexibility at a competitive price point,” said Elbert. “Taking these factors into account while considering that we are centrally located in the ever-expanding job market that is the DFW Metroplex, the opportunity afforded to our students is hard to match.”
The College of Business also earned high praise for its Executive MBA program, which was ranked No. 5 in Texas and No. 22 in North America by CEO Magazine.
“It’s incredibly great to be highlighted in CEO Magazine, and I think this recognition just shows the quality of our faculty, students and curriculum,” said Hakim Sims, the Executive MBA program director. “The ranking serves as a great benchmark to show us where we stand amongst some of the top programs in the world, and here in the State of Texas.”

Sims emphasized the program’s practical value and transformative impact on students.
“We provide so much value to our students through this accredited program by making sure they receive an enriching networking experience and practical skills through their courses,” said Sims. “Our students gain knowledge and awareness of new ideas, but they also gain the confidence within themselves that they can take on any role and take that next step in their careers.”
Built on a cohort model, the EMBA experience encourages collaboration, peer learning, and leadership development through a variety of immersive opportunities.
"I asked some of our students about their favorite part of this program. I received an answer that said, ‘I’m actually being challenged again, and I love that’ and that’s common. Every student and alumnus I’ve spoken with has shared how this program has exceeded their expectations, whether through our experienced faculty, transformative global trips, innovative leadership laboratories, or the collaborative cohort experience,” said Sims. “The average EMBA program globally sits at an average of $126,000. We’re offering this great program for $50,000. This helps our students get a great education for an affordable price while giving them inspiration and confidence through what they learn and their peers within the cohort.”
Sims added that the EMBA experience doesn’t end at graduation.
“As director, my goal is to expand our focus on lifelong learning and alumni engagement, creating more opportunities for continuous professional growth. Our program isn’t just a 17-month experience, it’s a lifelong journey that helps alumni stay connected, continue learning, and advance their careers well beyond graduation,” said Sims. “By strengthening this commitment, we can enhance our impact, build a stronger community, and position our program for even greater recognition in the future.”
